Dear Friends,
I’m Doru (Drew) M. Angelo, the founder and CEO of KONNECT POWER. I want to share with you my journey and passion for renewable energy – a path that’s not just about technology, but about connecting people and communities to sustainable solutions.
My story starts in a small town in Romania, Curtea de Argeș, where I was adopted at the tender age of three and a half. Growing up in Marlborough, Connecticut, and now living in West Hartford, I’ve ventured through various fields, from hospitality to business consulting. But it was during my work on international projects that I found my true calling. Witnessing firsthand the struggles of communities with limited access to energy ignited my passion for renewable energy and its power to change lives.
At KONNECT POWER, we’re driven by a simple yet powerful mission: to connect communities globally with renewable energy solutions. It’s about replicating the success I’ve achieved in business consulting, but in a way that genuinely impacts the renewable energy sector. This journey from business consulting and hospitality to entrepreneurship in renewable energy has been more than just a career transition. It represents my vision for a future where sustainable energy is accessible to all, lighting up lives around the world.
As both a CEO and a member of the community, I’ve always believed in the power of collaboration and public service. I’ve worked closely with governors, senators, and local stakeholders, promoting tourism and economic growth in Connecticut and beyond. Now, I’m honored to work with several diplomatic figures, contributing to philanthropic initiatives and strengthening cultural ties. In every step of my journey, from my humble beginnings to where I stand today, my commitment has remained steadfast – to entrepreneurial excellence, community leadership, and above all, to fostering a greener, more sustainable future through renewable energy.
